We get lost. The world, and our own desires, draw us away from all that God created us to be and to be for. Christ's mission is one of rescuing the lost who have strayed from the love of God; he comes to welcome us home. That's what makes him the Good Shepherd who goes off in search of the lost sheep. And the parable tells another story too. Once we come to the home Christ prepares we have to help one another remain safely there through our prayers and love and community.
