The Book of Acts tells of the gift of the Holy Spirit given to the followers of Jesus at the Jewish festival of Pentecost. There is a sound like a rushing wind, and what look like tongues as of fire. The Church is born in this action of God and this drawing in of humanity (Acts chapter 2, verses 1-4).
